TO ALL OUR FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS
Hello everyone,
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and at Just For Humanity we have taken more than a few steps already!
We are excited therefore to share with you that we have just provided critical educational resources to children in a remote part of Nepal. Thanks to our close collaboration with Anu Books in Lalitpur, Nepal – coupled with your generous support – we have been able to provide children’s books, school supplies and sports equipment to SJAV school in the remote village of Accham.
We also presented the school children with clean water dispenser facilities, a vitally important effort to improve health by providing the children with clean drinking water. Although access to safe drinking water and sanitation are basic human rights, more than 3.5 million people in Nepal do not have access to basic water services today.
After a 30-hour road journey from Kathmandu, our very own Just For Humanity team member, Dristi Kunwar personally delivered our supplies to the SJAV school and was able to witness firsthand the joy and excitement of these underserved children. We are proud to have brought smiles to over 100 children between kindergarten to 5th grade. The excitement among the children was worth capturing!
Many other schools in this area also lack adequate funding for basic supplies and infrastructure and this has a direct and negative impact on student outcomes. At Just for Humanity, we are doing our small part by providing the educational resources so children can develop critical life skills, including leadership and collaboration, from reading, writing and sports. None of this is possible without your support so, if you can, please do help out. A few dollars go a long way and will ensure that more children like those at SJAV in Accham can benefit from our education facilities upgrade program.
Finally, before we sign off, we have also recently added new underserved children to our tuition sponsorship program. We will be following their progress and sharing their journey as they get acclimated to their new schools and surroundings. Stay tuned for our next newsletter and follow their journey along!
